just need a quick suggestion, I am applying for a vacancy advertised by a multi-nat company. There is an option to submit the cover letter aswel with your resume.
But who do I address my cover letter to? If you know what I mean!
There has to be the name and address of the person you are intending to send the letter at the top and then in the body when you write "Dear...." followed by his/her name.
if that info is not available, who do you normally address the letter to?
I dont think "to whome it may concern" would be appropriate in case of a cover letter!

Thanks.

If you know the name of the company and their address, call them and ask the name of the person who posting this job with correct spelling of their full name and their title.

It shows that you are willing to follow up and you are ahead of everyone.

Good luck.

Personally I believe that letters are excellent, provided they are composed utilizing excellent grammar and spelling (always use a spill chucker!). You can get some excellent tips for writing letters by visiting the site in the box below, it's got plenty of other stuff about job searching aswell.

If you can get the hiring manager's name, then obviously use that. Otherwise, To Whom It May Concern is your best option.

Please do not address it: Dear Mr/Ms Hiring Manager. It annoys me, and I will trash your resume because of it.
