I think it's time for you to check the background of the company by visiting their company website. Try also to contact their phone number and seek business support services so that you'll know if it is legible or not. In that case, you can now judge on your own whether you are going to take it or not. Many people use scam right now, so please be aware of those. Be wise in making decision or else you'll regret on it. Look for more tips visit:

employers can see your resume online at Monster & they will contact you even if you didn't contact them.

insurance agents & lately financial companies are the only employers I've ever had contact me w/o me contacting them first when I was listing at monster.

If you're interested in doing sales & you're desperate for work then it can't hurt to hear what they have to say. (do not give them any money. if they ask you for money then they are a scam. if they tell you that you will need to have a state license to work for them---& you may since you'll be handling other people's money---then they will direct you to a legitimate licensing board that operates in your state & they will reimburse you for the license once you have it. if they won't reimburse you for the license then they are a scam)

if you have no interest in doing commissioned sales (because that is what this will be--you don't sell, you don't make any money) then ignore the email.

edit:

if you do go to this interview, keep your ears pricked for clues it may be a scam because there are scammers hiring desperate out of work people to help them run scams on retirees & if you don't pay close attention & do your due diligence, you won't find out it's a scam until it's too late)

I didn't see this question yesterday. So it's Christmas morning 05:30 here in New Mexico, USA. And I'm at work. I work tonight Christmas night too. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL & THE HAPPIEST OF NEW YEARS !!!!!!!!!! Hugs & Kisses to all the K9s. Of course OB is important. It's the key to people & their dogs having a happy lifetime together. IMHO every dog should be able to pass the CGC. Civil with other people & dogs, basic doggie manners, basic commands & basic leash manners.

It is a legitimate company but there have been numerous complaints about an interview scam on the Internet. Sound like one to sit out - especially if you aren't sure you even applied to them

Thanks to how Monster runs their site, these emails are expected if you have a public resume on Monster.

You have sent out numerous resumes, but would you have applied to be an independent insurance agent? Did you also send resume to Aflac and the dozens of insurance companies that have the same product? I doubt if you are job-hunting for a commission-based job.

Steer clear of these emails. For me, the alarm bells are the impersonal nature of the email indicates it was not sent to just you. The vague and incomplete references to the job title also tell you it's just a mass invite. And lastly, HR managers rely on their company websites to tout their community service attributes. They would not spend valuable space on something that isn't related to the job or the interview.

It may be a marketing tool for these insurance companies but for me, it sends a negative view of the product and company.

Good luck on your job search.

Take a look here:

Sounds identical to your situation, except for initial contact via email rather than a call. Other than that, sounds like a scam to me.

Bankers Life and Casualty is a legitimate company.

My father had his IRA with them.

Wayne answered the question you asked. You can check the address yourself on Google.

OR, you can check out the scam...
