No one has to do anything for you. You need to go and get it. Theaters seem like a good option for you. But even though you are turning 16 in August, they have to treat you like a minor and I think that depending on the state, if you are younger than 16, there are certain shifts and certain responsibilities you cannot do. I know down here 15 yr olds cannot work past 8pm.

Your school shouldn't be doing anything to help you find a job until you are 16, but they probably won't help you then either. It is not likely that you will find the type of job you are looking for. Most summer jobs are season and usually involve some manual labor. You can probably get a cleaning job at the local theater, grounds keeping, or waitress job, however, by August 5th, I would expect that most of these jobs will be taken. You may have to stick with babysitting until next summer.

I would suggest www.snagajob.com.

Even if you never work before create a resume; if you have volunteer experience and/or have help in the school with organizing and events include it in the resume. Also, include any work you have done for neighbors and so forth.

I hope this helps.

At that age, I worked as a reporter and editor for the community newspaper. Then again it was a small town. But it's worth a try; I had a lot of fun with that job.

go to your local library and ask for help there.

sometimes they have a listing of postings in your area for teenagers and also there is summer youth employment here in NY but it should be in every state...
